In 1902, the Claretians of the Mexican Province were invited by Bishop of San Antonio, John Anthony Forest, to minister to the Spanish-speaking people of San Antonio, Texas. This marked the Claretians’ first missionary efforts in the United States of America. They were then invited to more dioceses in Texas and, soon, throughout the nation.
