Archives

The Claretian Missionaries Archives USA-Canada began as the Claretian Eastern Province Archives at the Provincial House in Oak Park, Illinois until it was moved to its current location in 1999. When the Western and Eastern Provinces amalgamated in 2011, the Claretian Western Province Archives were moved from Los Angeles, California to Chicago, Illinois to reflect the new administrative structure.

The Claretian Missionaries Archives USA-Canada is the repository of records for the USA-Canada Province. It collects, preserves, and makes available the historical record of the Congregation of Missionaries, Sons of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary in North America. Collecting areas include:

• Administrative records of the USA-Canada Province (2011-present) as well as those of the former North American Province (1902-1953), US Eastern Province (1953-2011) and US Western Province (1953-2011)
• Records of current and former communities and institutions owned, operated, or sponsored by the Claretians.
• Records pertaining to, and personal papers of, individual members and former members of the Claretian Missionaries
• Published materials on or by the Claretian Missionaries, with special focus on materials pertaining to Claretians in North America
